- Notes: A curious double basket which originates in Catalunya and, as its name suggests, was originally for peeling potatoes! Nowadays this basket is not often made. Our versions are especially strong as they feature wedges of mediterannean cane which reinforce the structure. The use of cane is a hallmark of Catalan basketry.

- Notes: Thousands of manually-made loops cover the surface of this felpa cushion made with local sheep´s wool and dyed by hand with natural dyes which include cochineal from Lanzarote, lichen and madder root.

- Notes: This basket is stable and very strongly made, with the typical wedges of mediterranean cane re-inforcing the structure, as is traditional in Catalan basketry.

- Note: We wish we could take the credit for the beautiful shape of this joyous basket – and the wonderful colour. But in fact it is a copy of a traditional basket inspired by a fisherman´s basket, in Asturias, north Spain, which we found in an antiques shop. The lid and shoulder strap have been substituted for an overhead handle, however, and a fabric lining hasa been sewn in. Our version has hand-woven linen as a lining and we have chosen a deeply saturated scarlet paint.

- Notes: This large sack is ideal for presents but it is handy all year round. Based on the traditional grain and sweet chestnut sacks of north Spain the sacks are hand- woven on looms with rustic linen and country wool which has been hand-dyed with natural dyes.

- Notes: These catalan country baskets are rarely seen these days because physically they are uncomfortable to make because of the position the basketmaker has to work in.

- Ref. Spanish Tissane Sacks (with lemon verbena)
- Notes: Small versions of the traditional stripey rustic linen sacks of the Ribeira Sacra area of north Spain. Some of our neighbours still have and use the full-size versions and even today the maker receives commissions from craftspeople to make large versions for them to keep their tools in. These small versions are useful in the kitchen, for garlic or spices, or hung in the bathroom as a practical alternative to the toothpaste mug! Please note that as they are indivually hand-woven colourways are constantly changing and will vary from the colours shown on the photo. The sacks come with a bag of dried lemon verbena, grown by the weaver just outside the weave studio, which makes a refreshing herbal tea.
