Traditional stripey linen sacks from north Spain
Anna Champeney Textile Studio takes pride in weaving the traditional stripey linen sacks which were used in the Ribeira Sacra area of north Spain for generations. In fact we are the only hand-weavers in north Spain who still weave the sacks, taking special care to source suitably rustic linen and using our own range of natural-dyed colours for the characteristic stripes. See our range of sacks currently in stock here.
101 Uses –
Hang the sacks up in your kitchen, pantry, bathroom, bedroom or garden shed! They look great and are ideal for laundry, recycled paper or plastic carrier bags and many other home and garden uses.
They are also useful to take on camping trips or picnics and make a really unusual present for crafters – for storing yarns, fleeces, tools or other craft projects.
You can choose large or small versions, or choose our herb sack which contains fragrant and relaxing lemon verbena for herbal teas.
Please note that once a one-of-a-kind sack has been sold there are no other identical versions
available. We prepare a loom to weave the large the sacks about every 18 months, and when the loom is prepared it is possible to weave sack fabric as metreage so if you are interested in this option do contact us. Because our production is limited we cannot guarantee that all versions will always be in stock.
