How to get here:

• Nearest airports:  Santiago de Compostela (between 2h – 2.30h by car).  Vigo (1.5h by car).  A Coruña (2- 2,45h by car) Madrid (5h by car)
• Nearest ports:  Bilbao  (7 .5h by car).  Santander (8.5h by car)
• Nearest Railway Stations:  Monforte de Lemos (30 mins by car), Ourense (40 mins by car)

Coming by bus: It is possible to leave your car behind with a bit of extra planning!  Monbus operates a rural bus service between Ourense – A Teixeira (ask the bus driver to drop you off at Cristosende, the penultimate stop) at 6.30pm on  Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.  The return journey is on the Monday-Friday bus service which operates A Teixeira – Ourense at 6.00am Monday to Friday. As an alternative there are also daily buses between Ourense and Castro Caldelas, from where you can take a taxi to Cristosende (15 minute drive).  The bus takes you  on country lanes through small villages and hamlets with views over the River Sil – an ideal way to travel without a car!  Journey time approximately 2 hours.   Information correct at time of writing (01/2010).  We advise you to check bus times (especially if your dates co-incide with local public holidays).  Monbus:  T.
